I love Rob Thomas, so when I was searching for a song that would work with "Joe" he was the first artist I chose to look through. Although I found many songs that had the melancholy feel that "Joe" also shares, I felt that this one really conveys what my favorite part of "Joe" was: the idea of everything beyond this life in both different worlds and what will happen to us after we die. I think the instrumentals on this song are beautiful, as are the words, and combined with the story, it does paint a really interesting work of art.
