This song reminded me a lot of "Joe" and other Foer works. The lyrics are basically a repetition of that verse which seems like a memory to me. I just get the feeling that its a memory that the narrator wanted to change somehow which reminded me of the Joe and how he wanted to go back and change the past. Also the music video really mirrored that whole time going backwards part seeing as the video (spoiler alert) is an old man rewinding time making him and his friends younger again, but the end his attempts are thwarted as when he stops cranking time backwards time flies forward and he is old again. The video really is worth watching.
